School Led Induction Programme

Schools offering the School Led Induction Programme need to register their ECT with an Appropriate Body. This programme requires the AB to carry out significantly more quality assurance and fidelity checks to ensure that the ECT is receiving the statutory requirements and will incur a significantly higher AB charge than either the Full or Core Induction Programmes.

  • AB to register ECTs on the TRA system.
  • Fidelity check before the start of the induction period by the AB.

Checks will ensure:

  • ECTs receive a programme of support and training based on the ECF induction programme. The induction’s design covers the evidence-based statements in the ECF; and ECTs have received planned elements of the induction
  • Quality Assurance visits to ensure the materials and sessions are in line with the statutory guidance for induction.
  • Ensure ECTs are fairly and regularly assessed at the end of year 1 and 2 of induction and at interim points
  • Additional observation(s)/quality assurance of ECF school-designed programme throughout the two years
  • Quality assure the schools detailed breakdown of the programme for years 1 and 2
  • The AB will use desktop reviews, observations and interviews with ECT
  • Additional support for ECTs not meeting Teachers' Standards

£1000 Quality Assurance + £195 per ECT per year
