NPQSENCO - a leadership level NPQ for special educational needs co-ordinators (SENCo) and school leaders
Is the NPQSENCO for me?
The introduction of the NPQ will play a key role in achieving the DfE's ambition to improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND by ensuring every SENCo receives high-quality, evidence-based training which equips them with the essential knowledge and skills needed to set the strategic direction of SEN policy in a school and the conditions in which pupils with SEND can thrive we are expecting this qualification to be available from September 2024.
This qualification will be the mandatory qualification for SENDcos and replace the National SENDco award from September 2024. Colleagues in role prior to this should continue to take the National SENDco award.
This NPQ is also open to colleagues in Leadership roles and not just for SENDco collegaues.
