Register your ECT with OneCornwall
OneCornwall is working with the National Institute of Teaching (NIoT) to support schools in providing their Early Career Teachers with the DfE fully funded ECTP Provider Led Programme.

ECT Registrations from September 2025
The DfE is updating its guidance around the DfE Portal and making changes to its systems to improve the registration process for the September 2025 cohorts. Schools will receive an email from the DfE outlining these updates and the actions required to help ensure a smoother registration experience.
In the meantime, please complete this form to let us know of any ECTs you plan to employ during the academic year. We will keep you informed about the next steps as they become available.
Register your ECT
To register your ECT for the ECT programme, please complete this form, and OneCornwall will be in touch with the next steps.
Do I need to re-register my existing ECT?
- If your school has already registered an ECT with OneCornwall and they are moving into Year 2 of the programme, you do not need to re-register them.
- If you are employing an ECT who has partially completed their induction at another school, you will need to register them as you would a new ECT. However, the process should be quicker, as their details will already be available on the DfE portal and ECT Manager.

IMPORTANT Appropriate Body Services
All ECTs must be registered with an AB. If you employ an Early Career Teacher (ECT) you must ensure that you register them with an Appropriate Body as soon as possible.
It is important to note that:
- this is completely separate to their ECF programme.
- you can register for AB services with OneCornwall even if you are completing the ECTP with another provider.
- AB fees will differ depending on the type of ECTP being undertaken.
